Ever since coming in the public eye, Dutch brothers Victor and Stephan Leicher, a.k.a Dubvision have definitely managed to make a name for themselves. So far, they’ve conquered the charts with their releases, plus they’ve performed in some cool places across the world. Now, the guys have decided to kick off the new year with the release of a brand new tune entitled “Geht’s Noch” and for this occasion, we’ve had the opportunity to have a little chat with them.

So, if you are curious to know more about their latest release or what’s coming up for them this year, then check out our exclusive interview below!

  1. Hello, guys. How have you been lately?

Good! January and February are usually the months for us to work on a lot of music and prepare for Miami and the summer!

2. With 2016 being over, can you guys tell us what were some of the highlights of last year?

We played some amazing shows. Meeting people that love our music is always an inspiration. It reminds us why we are doing what we are doing.

3. What was an important lesson you learned in 2016?

To not feel pressured into making a certain type of music and just being free in the studio. That freedom gives you so much inspiration and makes music making fun. In the end that is what its all about.

4. You’ve just released a brand new track „Geht’s Noch”. What was the inspiration behind this tune?

We wanted to make something groovy for in our sets with a lot of energy. We had the idea of making a bootleg of this track for a while now. It’s one of our favorite classics! We made the bootleg and shared it with Tiesto. He loved it and wanted to release it on Musical Freedom.

5. How long have you been working on it?

Like we said we had the idea for a while now. The actual process of making it didn’t take that long, probably about a week or so. It happened really fast and we were very pleased with the result!

6. How did you come up with the name for your new release?

That can be one of the hardest things haha! Obviously when there is a vocal or its a remake its easy to name it. But naming instrumental tracks is difficult. Usually we give the project a working title and just go on with whatever we’re doing for a couple of days, but paying extra attention to phrases or words that spark our interest.

7. Now, that a new year has started, what are some of your plans? How will 2017 be different than the year that just ended?

Musically its going to be an exciting year for us. We’ve spent a lot of time over the last half year or so making new music, different from what we’ve been making. We have tons of ideas that we’re finishing up. Some stuff will be typical DubVision style, some stuff will be unexpected, but in the end it will still be DubVision.

8. Do you have anything in particular that you hope to accomplish this year?

Like always we just want to make good music. Music that we enjoy making. That’s what’s brought us this for and will bring us further! The rest will follow 🙂

9. Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?

Keep an eye out on our social media channels! We’re following up “Geht’s noch” pretty soon with a very cool song. After that we return to one of our favorite labels with something exciting. Also we’ll be picking up Visionary Radio again in February so make sure to keep an eye out for that too!
